Krabi, a tropical paradise!

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

Hey fellow tographers! Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog!

In this post I want to share some images from a trip to Krabi with my wife in January 2021. For those who don't know, Krabi is in the south of Thailand and is known for its jungles, karts cliffs and obviously its beaches. A true tropical paradise.

It holds a special place in my heart because its where my wife and I got married in 2019. Honestly, the wedding of our dreams!

The place we are drawn to when we head to Krabi, is a small peninsular called Railay. Railay is home to three beaches and a host of small hotels, a walking street and many different excursion hosts. Unfortunately, Covid 19 has hit Railay pretty hard, causing tourism to crash and leaving the area feeling pretty sorry for itself. A real shame!

Once a thriving tourism hotspot, its kind of strange to see this place so quiet. In some ways its great to see the wildlife and oceans healing from the much reduced foot traffic and boat traffic, however it has left many local Thai's without work and struggling to survive.

Massively mixed emotions on this trip but one thing that remains consistent in Railay is the natural beauty! Breathtaking no matter what direction you look. Beaches, jungle, mountains and even monkeys are all just waiting for you to stop and watch, look and listen.

here is a selection of images I took during this short 4 day stay. Enjoy!

All images are taken with Nikon Z6 and 24-70 F4 and 50mm F1.8s.
